Thomas Finnegan

Thomas Anthony Finnegan (August 26, 1925 – December 25, 2011)[1] was the Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese Of Killala, County Mayo, Ireland.[2] The Diocese of Killala has a Catholic population of 38,000 in 22 parishes, and includes portions of Counties Mayo and Sligo. In 2002 Bishop Finnegan founded the Newman Institute which offers courses in counselling and spirituality.[3] Also in 2002, Finnegan was succeeded by Monsignor John Fleming.[2] Bishop Finnegan celebrated his Diamond Jubilee in 2011.[4] He died in Sligo General.[5]
